Jennifer: Hey there, I'm Jennifer. And I'm Jackie. And welcome to Slightly Unsupervised. We're best friends, business partners, and the chaos behind bestimony, a ceremony we created to celebrate the kind of soulmates who don't come with a marriage license.
Jackie: This podcast is all about that friendship energy, the deep stuff, the messy stuff, and the laugh to you smart stuff.
Jennifer: So whether you're driving, folding laundry, or hiding in your car for some peace and quiet, you're a good company.
Jackie: Let's get slightly unsupervised.
Jennifer: So today is the ultimate bestie test. Who knows who best? Because if you don't know our go-to drink, then are you even best friends? We just happen to be in Las Vegas right now, and we just happen to come back from the gambling floor, and I know for sure today her favorite drink is cranberry and vodka.
Jackie: Yeah, and like I said, I have not had it since the last time I was probably in Vegas. Right. Because I'm just not into having the heart drinks anymore. Right. Which is fine. That's just my choice. And like I told Jen, I was in the Bahamas and I they wanted heart drinks, and I can't do tequila. So I was doing Dacri's and vodka, but that's the last microemper. Otherwise, it's wine seltzers. That's about it.
Jennifer: Just some basic stuff. Yeah. We lost we lost our taste of tequila from high school when we just had too much of it, I think.
Jackie: Maybe it was like the cheapest. To that research, but I even like I've had people, like my cousin enjoys like the higher end tequilas. Sure. Oh, if you try this, it believe me, you'll like it. No. No.
Jennifer: Like I even the smell, I'm sorry, they all smell the same. Right. Well, because it's from the same plant. So it has the same smell. But yeah, we probably since high school, we probably don't drink tequila anymore. Just too many wild nights of tequila drinking, and we're just done. So both of us both are very anti-tequila at this point in our lifetime. So yes.
Jackie: So, anyways, so today we're gonna we're putting our friendship to the test. Literally, it's the ultimate bestie test. We figure it was a perfect time to do this. And we're about to find out who actually pays attention, who remembers the details, and who's just here for the snacks. So we have a bunch of quick questions, and uh, we'll see whoever gets to the most uh right wins for the bragging rights for life, or at least until next week.
Jennifer: So uh let's talk about how long we've been best friends, just so you know, and what the bond, why are bonds so tight? So we've been friends from fifth, well, we've been friends from 12 until currently we're 55, but there was a break there where we didn't have about 15 years where we weren't friends. Um so we have been friends for a long time. And um, you know, who remembers which boyfriend in haircut disaster? So I will remember uh which boyfriend that you had. Um let's say you haven't had that many.
Jennifer: That's the great thing about you know we weren't boy crazy, so we don't have a ton of boyfriends, but I guess your very first, like for me, your very first boyfriend that we like knew about and we celebrated. Well, that we were like acknowledging, I guess acknowledging.
Jackie: Okay, that's must yeah, was celebrating each other's boyfriend.
Jennifer: Yeah, was I'm just gonna say his initials, KB. Is that the first goodness?
Jackie: Oh yes, yeah.
Jennifer: I think KB was your like first boyfriend that we actually serious boyfriend. It was a serious boyfriend, yeah.
Jackie: Like that took seriously, like that everybody went to I went to dances with that's true.
Jennifer: That was like the first boyfriend that you were was a meaningful relationship for you, at least in that part. And that happened probably of course that's the one that did something wrong, right? But that's okay. And then from initial points down, your first who do you remember me as well? You know who my first boyfriend was because I only had one freaking boyfriend.
Jackie: Volkswagen.
Jennifer: Oh, yeah. I went out with him very with him for a while, not very long, maybe like six months or something. I would think it was very long. For me, that would be long. Okay, first of all, like in high school, we should talk about that. I think that high school are like dog years. So if you don't date somebody for a year, it's like a seven-year relationship in high school, right? Because the high school years are so so random and so crazy that if you could stay together for a full year in high school, that is like should count as seven years, don't you think?
Jennifer: Do you do you think we should vote that in? That high school is like dog years.
Jackie: What about the ones that uh get married? Well, yeah. I'm proud of all the ones that we have quite, and I'll put their names out there on this one, but like Pesqueras, look at them. Yeah, they're the so sweet. So sweet in our class. I don't know. Uh is there any others? Yeah, there's the Reese's. Oh, yeah, the Reese's. And then we have them out the uh Shropshires. Shropshires?
Jennifer: Yep. All right, so we have quite a few little little groups. Those are all the ones that started and hey, kudos to all of you. Yeah, kudos to all of you that you found love in high school and you continued and stuck with it and you're still married. So we wanna we wanna shout out to you guys. So, anyways, and then the who remembers the haircut disaster? Okay, so first of all, you had the cutest haircut when you cut your hair super short, super short, and it was like over your ears and on top of your head.
Jackie: Oh, I'm sorry. Thank you for saying that. But do you remember the nickname that some of the guys gave me?
Jennifer: No, we won't talk about it.
Jackie: Yeah, but let's put it out there. Okay, good. Yeah, it was that that Bob fruit. They called me Dickie Head.
Jennifer: Yeah, but all the girls thought it was cute. It was so cute. I loved your hair that short. I did. So screw you boys, you guys are just assholes. Like, that's just rude. But it was fun. I took it, I didn't care. Of course. Because it's still like obviously I still remember. I know, right? No, I mean that's just rude, you guys. They were super it was super cute, and it was one of my favorite haircuts on you, and I know you'll never go back to it because you're traumatized by it, but it was super cute on you.
Jackie: Thank you.
Jennifer: So we think we know everything about each other, we're about to find out. So here we go.
Jackie: Okay, so the ultimate bestie quiz to take okay, what's her guilty pleasure TV show?
Jennifer: So I will go first. Your guilty pleasure TV show is some form of reality television. Yeah, totally 100%.
Jackie: We know all the housewives, all those.
Jennifer: Wait, I have to tell you about my housewives.
Jackie: Right now I'm into uh the McVee. The McVeigh's, that's right. It's the other side of the Yellowstone. It's kind of like the Yellowstone, but not where they're killing each other.
Jennifer: Oh, well, that's good.
Jackie: They're not taking each other to the train station, but it's just like it's reality on the farm, but the stuff that you see, like the dad, Dave, he is awful. This man, like, I would be like, oh my gosh, and these sons are like supporting him, but they're keeping the business going.
Jennifer: Wait, who's does who's the girl on Yellowstone that is the daughter? I freaking love her. Freaking love her.
Jackie: Why don't we not bring okay?
Jennifer: 55-year-old brains. Yeah, what is her name? Oh my god, I love it. Oh my gosh, how can we? I know, you know who we're talking about. She's the biggest bitch on television, and I and I love her. She does everything that she's super smart. Oh my god, I love her. So I was saying that Jackie got it.
Jackie: She says our voices sound the same. We had a girlfriend here last year. Yeah, she couldn't figure out who was who. She was like, okay, who who is this person? And who said this? I know. And we're like, oh, well, that was me. She's like, Oh, I thought it was you.
Jennifer: I know. No one can tell our voices of heart. But yes, Beth. Sorry about that, guys. Beth is the biggest bitch on the planet, and I love her. Love her. I feel like your guilty pressure TV shows are the housewives. The reality shows. Yeah, precious. I do like I like I'm right now into like for some reason I missed all the 90s and early 2000s like shows because I was raising kids and didn't have time for it. And also TV was different then. If you didn't watch the show when it was on, you didn't see it, right?
Jennifer: So we didn't have like yeah, we didn't have like Netflix, we didn't have any recording system. So you had to be on your game on that day to watch that show. So I've like picked up on the late 90s and early 2000s, like shows that I never did watch. So right now I'm like guilty in that, but I do love reality shows. I I like shows that are for sure what's somewhat happening. I don't know if they're housewives or exactly what's happening. Like I rather deal with like what is is than a pretend version of it.
Jennifer: Like that's just how I am.
Jackie: I think we're saying uh Erica was saying about us and how we seem so real. I'm like, yeah, we're not the housewives. Right.
Jennifer: But that we are genuine to our um who we are, I guess.
Jackie: And that, you know, we laugh at at saying stuff as someone we hadn't seen since high school, right? We hadn't even talked to her, right? And like she's just like being around us and talking and with each other for an hour and yeah, make remarks about just like like I've known you forever.
Jennifer: Yeah, and that's super that's super nice to say because we can be a bit much. We've always said that, and we're always gonna say that when we're together, we can be. And I was like, kudos to you because you came in here. We had a friend, Erica, come last night, and she visited with us that we're in Vegas and we're in high school. And she she lives here, so she came to see us. We actually podcast her other way. We're probably gonna put a different podcast out about her, but anyways, she came and she was like, she walked into kind of the lion's den, which I've said that.
Jennifer: I'm like, kudos to her because she knows that we're super tight and she came to see us, and we weren't real tight with her in high school, but we knew her, we knew her, but we didn't like we weren't she knew us, and I gotta I gotta put this out there. Yeah, that she thought you were super sweet.
Jackie: I was a super sweet person. This is Jackie speaking, so people don't know.
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was sassy. I'm like, that's not true. Jackie was sassy and I was sweet. Like, that is so wrong.
Jackie: So all of you that know us, yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. I'm like, I'll take it, I'll take the sweet.
Jennifer: Anyways, moving on to our next question. Yep. Your biggest irrational fear. I know yours. Death. Like you, yes, you forgot about death far more than I forgot about death. But I'm spiritual and you're not spiritual. Yeah, that's what the difference between us. Yeah. Do you think I have any irrational fears?
Jackie: I think yours is uh failure. Yeah, I'm sorry, I was looking for the words. Totally. Like you want everything to work out, like you're yeah, you work so hard and you keep going. I could have done it if you wouldn't have said it.
Jennifer: I'm sorry. You're taking her too long. So I just went and I've had two drinks. So I think that's probably true.
Jackie: I probably exact word I was looking for. So you know, everyone, I really was going to say that.
Jennifer: I just happened to pop in with it beforehand.
Jackie: But yeah, probably the word like you fear not succeeding on what you're doing.
Jennifer: True. But I still try. Whether I succeed or not, it's okay. Like it's not like if I fail, I'm okay. Because at least I tried. And if I if I don't, if I don't, if I never do it, it's more of a bother to me than if I try it. If I try it and I failed, I'm like, well, that wasn't my avenues. Um that's probably true.
Jackie: Some of us can't handle the failure.
Jennifer: Right. Failure has got to be like in your genetics to be like, I failed, but I tried. And so many people never try because they're quite certain they might fail. And if they do fail, that that is so that can be a big blocker in life. And if you have, if you have that, then I always invite people that do that to be like, failure is not trying to, right? It's just it's never knowing. At least when I fail and I try, then I know. So I get a better outcome for that. So at least it's a little bit more of a um, it's a reality for me that I understand and I know.
Jennifer: And I'd be like, oh yeah, I tried that. That didn't really work for me. It wasn't really my avenue of life or whatever, but at least I tried it. And most people will be like, you know, I would I would never do that. I would never do that. Why? Because you would fail. Like, I think that I'd rather say that. A lot of people say that.
Jackie: Okay, so I have to throw the next one out because I know Jen's.
Jennifer: Oh, I know. You know what?
Jackie: Fast food order. What's my fast food order? Okay. Say down the hill, uh first apartment. What is it?
Jennifer: Well, it is Taco Bell, bean cheese burrito, extra cheese, extra red sauce, and a Dr. Pepper. Am I wrong? Am I right?
Jackie: And my husband knows that now. Does he? He knows it now too. Yeah.
Jennifer: So it cracks you up because they'll be like, oh, he's like, well, oh, and he's like, I know extra extra red sauce, extra cheese, bean burrito at Taco Bell. You wouldn't do that. And the Dr. Pepper for drink. Do you know mine? I don't know yours. I don't even have to have you don't have any because I'm all over the place. I do. I go over the place. I'm not like sensed with it.
Jackie: I'm like, there's not. Because mine was that was even my go-to when I was pregnant. Really? Yeah, because when I was sick, that's the only thing I could eat.
Jennifer: Was the Dr. Pepper and the red red burrito with extra subsector cheese?
Jackie: But I didn't do the soda. No. I didn't do the soda because I was really big about having soda when I was pregnant.
Jennifer: Sure. I was really good about that. Oh my god, you were a total fiend for Dr. Pepper when you were 18 years old for sure. So okay. Who was her first crush?
Jackie: Thinking the person I'm thinking, would it be Ellen? Would it be junior high school? Or would it be high school? I mean, there's one like mouth it. I'm gonna mouth it before I say it.
Jennifer: Well, you can say the initials because we don't we're not talking about people. That's probably my first like high school crush. Okay. Yeah.
Jackie: But I'm right, right?
Jennifer: Yes, you're right about that. You're right about that. Yes. And he actually went on to have quite a tumultuous like he had a crazy life, and it was hilarious to listen to a friend of ours that David come back.
Jackie: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not talked about that for uh I don't think we've talked about it really ever.
Jennifer: I don't know if you have a crush. Like, I'm trying to think about I don't think so. Like, I don't feel like we're obsessed about anybody. Yeah.
Jackie: I remember yours. I remember I can remember like like most of our girlfriends, uh not Michelle. I don't remember Michelle.
Jennifer: Michelle's was RL.
Jackie: Oh yes. Now I remember that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right.
Jennifer: So let me just let me confess because I'm little I drank a little bit, so I want to confess something. And she listens to this podcast sometimes. I am so sorry when my little Shell, who I love dearly, like one of my most closest persons on the planet to me. I went out with her boyfriend. No, with her crush. And she was obsessed with him in eighth grade. He asked me in junior, no, in high school, uh senior or freshman year to go to homecoming with him. And I went. Not because I was interested in him, because I wanted to go on homecoming, I think.
Jennifer: So, anyways, I went to homecoming with her crush, and she was that's like the one thing, that is the one thing that I will always regret. That is my biggest friend, Faupa, that I went to homecoming with her crush in high school. And so she doesn't hold against me, and I think that that's you know, that's a blessing that we have with each other. And and she actually was with me the night before we went to homecoming and we got in trouble. We we ended up going to McDonald's. We went up to the high school high school football game.
Jennifer: We went to homecoming, or we went to McDonald's, which was in a different area in the mountain. And so we actually, my mom found out and she got pissed off. So I ended up having to go to homecoming with RL and met him at the school, and my mom picked me up like an hour later. Like I got to go to homecoming for one hour. We danced a little bit and then we left. Like it was so innocent. But it is my deepest and most, you know, sorry regret that I went to her boyfriend. I went to homecoming with her boyfriend for a minute, but nothing happened.
Jennifer: Totally fine. No, she's totally fine. Yeah, I know everything. I know, but it's like for sure, like something that I'll always like regret and I'll feel bad for. And we talk about it. It's not like it's a secret, it's not like it's a hurt, it's like kind of a joke now. It's like, well, I saved you from all that. Like you could have been stuck in that world. So but I don't really feel like you had like a crush.
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know weird, like everybody had, and I really didn't have any crushes.
Jennifer: Probably. I think maybe your first your ex-husband was probably the major crush in your life, maybe for me.
Jackie: Like, yeah, but I was that only happened because at first I did it.
SPEAKER_01: No, I know.
Jackie: Isn't that weird?
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
Jennifer: So I don't know if I'm like a strange female. No, when you think No, we said that because we just podcast about like growing up together and like not being rebellious, but just doing like we were not boy crazy. I wasn't boy crazy either. I like had a crush, but it wasn't like I wasn't like following and stalking. I was more like, oh, he's cute. And like that's probably what my crush was. And I just don't think that you were a little all that interested. Like, we're kind of weird, we're kind of weird girls that way, but we weren't like boy crazy at all for sure.
Jackie: Yeah, if you knew me, yeah. And I also had a boyfriend. Not that I didn't like, you know, men or anything, and there's anything wrong with that. Yeah, I just wanted to be around my friends, and maybe it was um, I don't think because my parents loved each other and my grandparents. I mean, I came from a family of people loved each other, worked everything, and all that. I think it was just being the thing that I just want to be with my friends. I think it was escape. Yeah, I feel like if you go with a boyfriend, I think at that time it was like, and maybe part of what I was going through.
Jackie: I didn't want to bring a boy in and had to see what I was going through. Maybe that could be part of it. Right, maybe the but they're not as judgmental.
Jennifer: But not judgmental, but like they don't absorb as much, like we absorbed each other's times for sure. Like a boyfriend is a different, like you have to be like concentrated on them, you have to like construct their egos. Yeah, yeah, for sure. I had to go to school, I had to do this, I had to go home, I had to do, and then at once become like girlfriends. So that might be it. Right. You had like a little amount of time, so that little amount of time that you got freedom from sit there thinking about guys.
Jennifer: No, no, we say that. We're definitely therapy. This is rule at the end. This is called best friend therapy. We totally worked it out.
Jackie: We're changing this whole podcast. Best friend therapy. No, you were right. You were right. When we're in Vegas.
Jennifer: Oh, there means we've had a few drinks. All right. All right, then who what is her love language? Okay, so you're a love. Okay, so love language is like acts of service. So you do things for people. Uh-huh. Yes. Um, I can't remember the other one.
Jennifer: Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I am so sorry. The love languages, I know they're giving.
Jackie: And then third one.
Jennifer: Okay, so the two languages I totally remember are action service and gift giving. So I think you guys.
Jennifer: Okay, but we end up in between the two, I remember. Yours are acts of service. Am I wrong? What is acting? That's what I'm talking about. So acts of service is like if you do something for somebody, like I'm going to, you know, like I don't know, vacuum your floor or just like service of acts. Like you give that's your show you love. Like, um, let me do this for you. Maybe spending time. Quality time is one of them. I like quality time. That's probably my at my love language, I think. Like, if you spend time with me, then I'll feel loved.
Jennifer: If I do something for you, do you feel loved? If I um spend quality time, do you feel more loved? If I give you a gift, what like what makes you and then there's words of affirmation. So there's like, if I tell you how great you are, then you feel loved. I'm for sure don't remember the fifth thing.
Jackie: I'm trying to think what love language. You're you're you're more abrupt.
Jackie: Support, you like support?
Jennifer: I do love support. Is that your love language? I think you're kind of yeah, yeah. I think that's good. I think if you like support me, I don't know if that's actually a love language.
Jackie: That's what I'm saying. What is love language?
Jennifer: I know, but if like if you do support me or you like stand by me with my crazy ideas, for sure I feel love. Right? For sure, for sure. I don't know if that's actually a love language, but I totally agree that if you just stand Google it.
SPEAKER_01: I just want to figure it out.
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think yours is probably you do acts of service. Like you do you like people to do things for you, or do you don't like people to do things? I think you like to do things for people.
Jackie: I like to do things for people.
Jennifer: I think for you, maybe words of affirmation. Do you like people when they say nice things to you? Does it make you feel loved?
unknown: Yeah.
Jennifer: Yeah. Does that make sense? Yeah, no, you haven't. I didn't get that. You got words of non-affirmation. So to give you words of affirmation to be like build you up, like, yeah, you're good. You got this, you're great, you can do this. Like, exactly. I think that that's probably your words, your your lead languages. So, okay, so what is her go-to karaoke song? I don't, you're it for sure. Jackie is a pop person, like she likes pop music, she likes 80s music. That's like the backstory, but like anything pop.
Jennifer: So when we work together, we do something, she's got like pop music on and she knows every word. And I'm like, what the hell is going on here? Like, I don't know any of these things.
Jackie: Yeah. He's like, Oh my gosh, I'll know when you're really having like dementia or he's like, because every but then he'll ask me, This is what bucks him. So who who sings this? What's the name of the band? What's the name of the song? I don't care. That's why I say no F because he does that with our daughter. Like they know the name of the band, the name of the song. I'm like, it doesn't matter. He's like, Yeah, I don't know. Every single word. I'm like, Yeah, okay, whatever. Like I don't need to know the band in that.
Jackie: I just like the songs. But it's like pop.
Jennifer: It's like pop music. Pop music is funny.
Jackie: I think that comes from how when I worked from when I was younger too. Remember working in the mall? Yeah. I always had music in the background.
Jennifer: So it was pop music.
Jackie: And so I've always had where I have to have music, I have to have things in the background. And I always had like my dad, my parents' music. And that was my thing. I just sat and that's like we were just in the bathroom here in the casino. And it's you heard me singing in the bathroom. Oh, yeah, you didn't. And everybody all been the grocery store and also singing at the end people, like, oh, you have such a great voice.
Jennifer: Oh believe so nice. You're such a liar. Thank you. Thank you for that. Yeah, like we have a strong bond for this band called Meatloaf. There's like her parents loved it, and like we've gotten into it. But if there's Meatloaf comes on, we know all the songs and we ever theatric it all out to, you know, whatever it is. If you haven't heard Meatloaf, go listen to Meatloaf because Meatloaf is, I don't know what the name of the song, but the one about first base, second base. That's the dashboard lights on.
Jennifer: I think it is, yeah. But we can full-on sing it. It's a theatrical song. It's not like it's not like it's not like a regular song where it repeats like the melody. This is like it does repeat the melody, but it's like a full-on story. So we invite you to it to Discover Meatloaf. But I think that your karaoke would be something pop or 80s. I I don't know what song it would be, but those are the two genres of music that I think you are particularly like. I don't think that's my genre music. What do you think my genre music is?
Jackie: I don't think you have. I don't know.
Jennifer: You don't think like I have a go-to?
Jackie: B52s used to be your go-to. I remember yes. Oh wait, that was like your song.
Jennifer: Oh, well, let's go back to high school because in high school it was like Death Leopard, Guns N' Roses, U2. Do you remember U2 came out and you got the Joshua Tree, and we went all the way to school, listen to it, like all the way home. Like, listen to it. Like that was big, Joshua Tree, U2. But also Death Leopard was huge, and also Guns N' Roses. Guns and Roses had that song about the baby. What was that song? Sweet Child of Mike. Yes. With the blue.
Jackie: That was actually writ uh right when I came when I had a baby. That was my husband and his um daughter's um song that they yeah, because he had a baby around the same time. So for her wedding, we did the sweet instrumental.
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jackie: That's what they danced to. It was really sweet.
Jennifer: Jackie's husband and I had kids young. He um he was married prior to Jackie, and he had a baby pretty young, not as young as I, but we had him in the same time zone because my son was born in June and her his daughter was born in August of the same year. So I actually had a baby before him. Yeah. But he's a couple, what is he, three or four years older than us? He's three. Three years older than us. Yeah, three years older. So we knew him in high school, but we didn't know him really in high school.
Jennifer: Like yeah, we didn't know. He was a little too far out. Okay.
Jackie: Okay. So um, you go there. What's the one thing that always makes her cry? This is a good one too. And I can't believe like because I always cry. You okay, I'm sorry, but I have been every almost like all the uh bestimonies we've done, you've cried at every single one that I've been at.
Jennifer: I know, I do.
Jackie: So like I and I think you've even said that you cry at more about the other stuff, sentimental stuff. Because I think it makes you think of your stuff. Yeah, but you don't like to cry at your stuff. Does that make sense?
Jennifer: Yeah.
Jackie: Like there was the because I think when you you're doing the bestimonies, you're thinking of your best friends.
Jennifer: Yeah, exactly. And the feeling it's sentimental.
Jackie: And that's what I've I've always said. Yeah. Um, I don't get it, I don't cry when we're sitting there with the bestimonies. But you might, because I have to say it. Like, I like talking, and that's why I am. If I start talking, then I'll start crying. You start crying. Like people all just just like not that at another that's my defensive yeah, is just don't say anything because I'll get upset. Right. Because I'm a crier at things.
Jennifer: And I also write, like I'm a writer, I love writing, but like I'll write uh they'll send me some information about their friendship, and then I'll write a thing about it. And then I start the best money. Yeah, but I write, I write something and then I talk about that before their friendship starts. And I think the the very first bestimony that we did that was outside of filming when I actually started doing bestimonies. There was five best friends, and I was like, I have five, you know what I mean?
Jennifer: Like that's the same group size that I have and their friendship, and so it was more sentimental to me because it's like, uh, will I have a five best friend groups too? So uh yeah, I will cry for sure at that. Jackie, one thing that makes Jackie always cry, Jackie, I think, cries when she gets into her feelers, and it's not always that she gets into her feelers, but if you can get something that makes her remember something about a particular memory, then you'll cry. It's just that you're more guarded with your memories of stuff.
Jennifer: Like, and if you can kind of get into it and be like, oh, do you remember? Like, you'll cry about it, especially like like sentimental feelings about people or something will make you cry or then it's it's like a heart hot, like hot punch for you. Like we know that you'll cry about you both and I will cry. I mean, we're criers, yeah. We cry at different things, but we're still criers, which means that we at least also cry in confrontation.
Jackie: Will you about that?
Jennifer: Not normally, like in high school, you would never cry to confrontation. Your age now, yeah.
Jackie: Like it just because I I I think the confrontations that I have now are things that I'm like, why are we doing this?
Jennifer: Yeah, wasted my time.
Jackie: It's like, yeah. So it's just like, why?
Jennifer: Why? Why do we have to hold on to this? Like, let's go, let go and just be peaceful about it. Yeah.
Jackie: So I want everybody to get along.
Jennifer: Right. That's my my I just want peace. Right. That's what everybody does. At 55, you just want peace. Yeah, for sure.
Jackie: Okay, what's the weirdest thing in her purse right now?
Jennifer: Well, we're in Vegas, so there's not much more than IDs and credit cards and cash. But I would say the weirdest thing in yours is probably a slim gym.
Jackie: I brought slim gyms, guys. I have this thing. If I go to the lake, we go to the lake where we where where we grew up and like around. I I have to have beef jerky. There's some reason about being on the lake, I have to have beef jerky. Really? I go somewhere else, I want slim chips. So I brought Smee and Jen both brought our own like all kinds of snacks and stuff because we're doing this for the four days, right? I brought slim gyps, so she's making it's cool.
Jennifer: Yeah. So I would think that the weirdest thing in my purse is not very complicated. Like, I don't keep much, many things. Although I did buy something today. What do I have in my purse today that I bought this morning? To fix your glasses. My sunglasses. I found it for you. You did. That is the weirdest thing in my purse right now, is that I have this sunglass kit to to take care of my sunglasses, which I'm obsessed about sunglasses because I have green eyes, and green eyes are very sensitive to the world.
Jennifer: Okay. So, bestie blenders and surprises. Go over which answers surprised you. Um, I don't think any answers surprised me.
Jackie: Didn't I think that's how much we know each other. So the ones you thought for sure the other would know. I knew you knew my fast food.
Jennifer: I didn't know you knew that I knew your fast food because I've actually quoted it before. And we're 40 years after the fact. Like, I still know her fast food order because it was so obsessive. We used to literally drive down a mountain to get fast food and drive back up the mountain.
Jackie: Those either in and out.
Jennifer: No, I don't was it was it del Taco? I think it was like Del Taco.
Jackie: It was Rosa Maria's, Del T, it just mattered what time it was. Yeah.
Jennifer: Rosa Maria's. I think we went to Taco Bell a lot because it was cheaper. Because we could afford it. That was the most. Oh, that's when we were in our apartment. Yeah. For sure, because it was right down the street. Okay. Laugh about the should have known this moment. I think I don't think we have any should have should have known moments, do we? I don't think so. I think that we pretty much like know the other one pretty well, though. I don't think we have any. You should have known this. Yeah.
Jackie: Talk about how long you've known something wrong about the other person.
Jennifer: What do you mean? I don't know. Talk about how long you've known something wrong about the other person. What do you mean by that? What does that mean? What's wrong? I don't think something's wrong. I don't see anything wrong with you. No. I mean, we would have told each other with the We're not those kind of friends that would be like, We keep it a secret. Yeah, we're like, don't tell her she doesn't need to know. Like, we would be like, Oh my god, you need to know this. There's something seriously wrong with you.
Jennifer: Start laughing. Start laughing. Just like we did right now. Okay. Okay. So what is the test that really shows? Reflect on your friendship and how you built the little tea tails. Well, we spend enough time with somebody that the little tea tails come, right? Like you spent enough time like this morning. I needed to get up and have coffee. Like, you know that I need to have coffee. Like, we've discussed that. That's not something that needs to be known. We literally on the way back down from the casinos, we came back down the hallway that where our hotel room is, and we stopped at the maid's cart and we stole a bunch of stuff.
Jackie: We're being really greedy. I'm like, I need more towels. I need more stuff for her coffee. The sugar. I know.
Jennifer: We were stealing like bad stuff. But we were literally, we went by and we're like staring, and we're like, we each grabbed something and we walked down the hallway like we're thieves. Wait, on top of it, we get inside. We're like, what'd you get? What'd you get? What'd you get for us? Jackie bought us a towel. Yes, I'm all about cleaning. Oh my god, let me just tell you about having an OCD best friend. Oh, wait, my room, like if you if you saw this room right now, let me describe it to you. My bed is full of shit.
Jennifer: My glasses, my purse, I have papers, paper straddled over where there's a mouse right where I sit. She has not made her bed. I've not made my bed. Like, it's a mess. It is a full mess. Now, Jackie's side, Jackie's side, her bed is made. Like she got up this morning out as she got out of bed and she made the bed. She even put the like decorative pillows back on there. Might have a mess, and Jackie's is fully made. Like, that's the view of our room right now. So that is the difference between the two of us.
Jennifer: But when we comes to stealing stuff, we work together.
Jackie: I really want to make your bed really bad because we have people coming together. I know. Let me tell you. One girl from high school and she's bringing her best friend.
Jennifer: That's right.
Jackie: It's actually her um cousin.
Jennifer: That's right. So my room will my bed will be made tonight because Jackie will make mercy upon it and find my room and do that. So that is, you know, that's just part of who we are. So anyway, so why being seen is known.
Jackie: What is this? What's the test? Why being seen and known by someone is so powerful. Mean each other. Uh-huh. Yeah.
Jennifer: Because you feel like you could just be who you are.
Jackie: Yeah.
Jennifer: Like there's no facade here.
Jackie: Like even when we went down and we're gambling and having drinks and stuff. Like I'm sure they're just looking at us like, wow, you two. You two see each other. Like we knew I'm like, oh, here goes the cocktailing. It's like all of a sudden on our phone at the table. I'm like, you're not allowed to have the phone at the table. Walk away. And they're looking at me. And you know, we have the we have the few people that come up that they're at the table that are the dealers. Yeah. They're just the moodiest.
Jackie: And we're just not the nicest people when we're together. Just like, can you go now?
Jennifer: Right? Because he wasn't rolling my numbers. I'm like, we've laid roulette. I'm like, yeah, when are you leaving? Like, when exactly is the shift change?
Jackie: And so when she came back, so we waited for her to leave the table. So we left and did other things and then came back. And she finally left. And then there was a guy that was there before there.
Jennifer: But then we were actually rolling our numbers and we were happy.
Jackie: He was just a happy guy.
Jennifer: He was happy.
Jackie: The personality.
Jennifer: And then here comes Crouchy Pants. And we're like, cash out, cash out, here comes Gratuit Crow. Yeah, we did. We did. We grabbed.
Jackie: And the one girl's like, Oh, I'm staying here. There's someone else playing with us, her and her husband. And she's like, You're gonna lean now, I'm gonna stay. And I was like, Oh no, we dealt with her earlier. She can smile.
Jennifer: We're like, cash out, cash out, let's go, let's go.
Jackie: So that's yeah, that's uh just us.
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jackie: Powerful with each other. That's right.
Jennifer: Okay, even if you get the answers wrong, what fact that you care enough to know? That's the real win. Even if you get the answers wrong, what's the fact that you care about to know that's the real win? Just that we do. Yeah, that should we know. Look at us, we're doing nothing. I know. But we're having the best time. Exactly. So I don't think there's really like we can go anywhere and do anything and just sort of have a good time. Like it's always and we move around. We're like, let's go to this place, let's go to that place.
Jennifer: Like we can move anywhere and do anything and just have a good time, which is great. All right. So we want to encourage our listeners to play along. So challenge the audience to take the bestie quiz. So the answers that we came up with or the things that we discussed with each other, other than the love languages, you might do some research on that before you play this game. Is that, you know, how well do you know your bestie test? Even if you don't play with them, particularly as we're we answered those questions.
Jennifer: Can you answer those questions about your bestie? Do you know that what those answers would be?
Jackie: And actually, if you do it with your bestie, I mean you could do your own questions also. Go ahead and and tag us and share your results. We'd love to see them. Sure. Very interesting. We'd love to share them on here also.
Jennifer: Also, we would love some bestie questions. Like we we get this all off the internet, so it kind of is we don't change the questions, we answer the questions honestly.
Jackie: So um make your own questions for sure. Like that's what we're saying.
Jennifer: Yeah, like make your own. But if you do, we would sure love to hear what your template is or what you have.
Jackie: And if this if this like episode reminds you of how much you love your bestie, come celebrate her. We're ready for you in Nashville. So we're gonna just put out that bestimonies again. Yes. Because I today that we're that's what this whole feeling is about. Like it's just us. We came out here to work, we're working, sure, but we had some time in between. So we've done a few podcasts and you know, we're building them up so you guys have them every week. Um, but we went out and just had some fun. We did.
Jackie: And it's so it brings us back to like why we're doing this. Right. Because sometimes we're just work, work, work. Like I come see you, and that's all it is. Yeah. And we're not having a good time. We're finally went out again, and nothing against, I mean, I understand a short time when I come out and work with you. Sure. And that's what we have to do.
Jennifer: When she comes to Nashville, by the way, that's what she's talking about. Like we're busy. Yeah.
Jackie: We're so we're not having that that, like, oh yes, having some cock, not that we have to have cocktails together, but it was just we just loosened up and like, hey, we have this time, let's go do something.
Jennifer: Let's go do something that we would normally do. Although, like, when you come to Nashville too, like what I have this little little little porch that I have that my husband puts up on a car rack for us, and I'm always like, take it down. Jackie and I are going up every time I come up. And we drive down like a really long road. It's probably like 20 miles. I don't remember how long it is, but it seems like a long road, a stretch of road by my house, and there's no there's no sunroof. I mean, there's no roof, so it's just open air, and we just fly down the road and we go Thelma Louise.
Jennifer: We're Thelma Louise without going off the cliff, but those are just like, and we're not, we're just listening to music. We're not really talking because you can't really hear in that convertible. But we're the music's blasted. The music's blasted, we're singing, and we're just having a good time. Like, that's like that's the true test of like just somebody you can be with, be yourself, be comfortable with, and not feel we don't even need to talk to each other. We can't talk to each other, it's too noisy.
Jennifer: But that's just like, you know, one of those things that you can do. And and when she does come, we do work a lot.
Jackie: So I if you if you've got a best friend like that, like what you're hearing today, please come out and do your testimony.
Jennifer: Do your bestimony, tell each other how much you love each other because it definitely will want to see more about it.
Jackie: You can go on to the website.
Jennifer: Well, you can go into bestimonies on YouTube and see us do it. So there's quite a few stories on there, so for sure. So anyway.
Jackie: Steep bonus round. All right, here I go. I love these, obviously. Okay, what's the most random thing she's obsessed with?
Jennifer: Okay, so me, that's Jen to Jackie. She's obsessed with cleaning for sure. Isn't that so sad? I know, like, obsessed. Like, I've been in family obsessed. Oh, you're obsessed with your family, 100%, 100%. Your kids are obsessed with your kids, all of them, and your husband obsessed, and the dog. Oh, by the way, the dog. Uh but I am in a hotel room with her, sharing a room, and ups, like I'm gonna go over her obsessive OCD. So she gets here, she unpacks all her clothes, every clo, like every drawer has her clothes in it.
Jennifer: Like, and we've talked about this before. I've dragged my my suitcase over to the corner. The corner. And I've opened the top of it and I've living out of it. And right now my pajamas are hanging out.
Jackie: And I we'll have that cleaned up before the next one.
Jennifer: Yes, people are coming, so Jackie's about ready to take care of the bed. No, we can have it closed. So I would say that what she's obsessed with is just order. You need order. Like, we need order in here for you to feel you're obsessed with succeeding. Probably.
Jackie: Yep. Which there's nothing wrong with that. No, that's awesome. No, like you just want to succeed and you want to do it by yourself. Yeah, don't want I mean, you're of course bringing me along and we can always say, Oh, we're business bar. I'm like, no, Jen's Jen's all this. I'm just here to help her. I mean, we're doing this together.
Jennifer: So we are, but I don't know about succeeding, but at least trying.
Jackie: I think you want to succeed.
Jennifer: That's good. That's not a bad thing. Yeah, but I mean, if it doesn't succeed, I'm okay too. Like, at least we tried. Like, I could say, like, like we could go out now and like people are like, what do you do? I do a lot of that. I have a business, so I run that too. But like, we get like like Jackie told her veterinarians one day. She's like, they're like, Oh, what do you do? Because she was talking checking your dog in or something. She's like, Oh, I'm a podcaster. Like, we haven't even put anything out yet.
Jennifer: But like for me, it's like, we're putting it out so that Jackie is a podcaster. So and of course I drag her along with it. So, anyways, that's just kind of us. Okay, what's the one thing she'll always say yes to? You? Yeah. Gosh, I don't think what we always say yes to. Going to have fun. You want to like do something funny.
Jackie: But I think it's other stuff too. Oh boy, that's a hard one. Because you say yes to a lot.
Jennifer: Yeah, probably. You're a yes, but then you're also a no. But I don't know. It depends on what the no's are. But I think I'm more of a yes than a no. Or yes.
Jackie: Like do anything for anyone.
Jennifer: Yeah. I think I have less yes.
Jackie: Yeah, yes.
Jennifer: Yeah. I think I have less I have yes, less no's than I have yeses. And I think you have less no's than you have yeses. Yeah. We're both the same way. We say yes to everything. Yeah. Like, well, let's try it. We'll see.
unknown: Yeah.
Jennifer: Let's go. We climbed up a mountain one time and then almost our children did not want us to do it. Nobody wanted us. No husband.
Jennifer: They won't do it. We're like, wrong, we'll do it without you. We could do the whole mountain, but we did it. You know why? Because they thought we couldn't do it. Right? It was almost more to prove them wrong than it was to actually do what we thought we were gonna do up there. What we're in our forties then, right? Yeah, we were in the forties. We were much younger. Much much more younger. Youth. Okay. What's her most iconic quote? I don't know. I don't know. That's a these are these rapid bonus rounds or whatever.
Jennifer: Right. Uh most iconic questions. I think yours is always just be positive. Like I've I don't know what the actual quote is, but I think always it's like be happy, be positive, like get along. Get along, like have harmony. So I think that would be what I would say about you is that you're always like, make sure. I guess yours would be let's do this.
Jackie: Let's do this.
Jennifer: Let's do this. Let's go. You are. Yeah, let's roll. Yep.
unknown: Let's do it. Yep.
Jennifer: Probably. Anyways, we'll wrap up. The answers may change, but the bond still stays the same. Whether you're every question right or totally flop, the real love is real. All right. So here we go. If this episode hit you in the fields or made you laugh way too hard, we consider that a win. Especially tonight.
Jackie: Be sure to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with your ride or die.
Jennifer: And when you're ready to make your friendship official, book your bestimony at rhinestonechepole.com.
Jackie: Because the best love stories don't always come with a ring.
Song: Reuniting's like we've never been apart, and every single time we're out of iron heart to heart.
Song: There's not enough for us to display, but you made a big enough to dump the display.
Song: I don't know the words to display what you make. The heart is to laugh to dance in this life. You've stayed right next to me. I thought I'll make you laugh till you cry and look up on everything and do the mole. The definition of a first friend. It's good.
Song: Trust that says loyalty.
Song: You and me Love Trust Loyalty.
Song: You and me.
